    Cat5 wiring diagram anyone?

    Hi All,
I'm having some cables run by a friendly sparky, and I need a diagram of how they're supposed to be terminated (into a cat5/RJ45 plate). Does anyone have a link to a diagram to hand please?

white orange, orange, white green, blue, white blue, green, white brown, brown.

thats how I remember it That is for the cables anyway - the faceplates are usually different, and are pre-colour coded inside. YOu should just have to punch down the correct wire inside each module.

Yup. Just make sure you stick to the 568 B scheme.

    Re: Cat5 wiring diagram anyone?

On a side note, make sure the sparky at least fits CAT5e or CAT6. Both wire up the same as CAT5, but they can support gigabit, whereas CAT5 is 100Mb.
