I'm sure this is a simple one but it's late in the day and my head is mashed.
My office is spread over 3 storeys.
The only analogue line is on the 3rd floor and is used solely for the broadband connection - this cannot be relocated.
Sods law dictates that two new devices have to be on the ground floor (and opposite end of the building) and both require a permanent analogue connection for their relevant communications.
Is it possible to use the current ethernet network to extend the analogue line using one of those RJ11 > RJ45 thingumybobs (no idea what they're called) like so;
Code:Floor 3 Analogue socket --- ADSL filter --- splitter --- router | --- 'thingumybob' into RJ45 socketor am I talking crap?Code:Ground floor RJ45 socket --- 'thingumybob' --- splitter --- device 1 | --- device 2
Other options are dropping at least a 50 foot extension cable out the window and round the building or trying to find a path using the existing ethernet routes both of which will be hell on earth.
Halp pleasethanks![]()
