What can i do with this?

This is just one of a few cabinets that are like this, what the hell should I do with this mess?



There is no space between patch panels for more tidys, there is no opening at the sides of the rails its just a solid front! I can't see a way to routing the cables in a way that would still give flexability for moving stuff about.

Ditch the tidy bays completely and rejig the layout to give you one big gap for cable stuffing?

I've started using rapstraps instead of cable ties too, much easier to work with.

Are you allowed downtime on this one, or does it have to be done live?

I can get about 12 hours of semi down time (half and half 6 hours top 6 hours bottom the next day) I can't remove the switches as I need the uplinks to be up.

You can get fittings that help you tidy them. You can run the cables through them and out of them at 90 degree angles. There are plenty of different designs, I personally have always liked the ones with tons of "fingers" on them.

I've always tried to do runs down the sides, then come across below the switch, up and in neatly. All 90 deg turns.

Look for "comms cabinet cable tidies"

Yes, i'd go down the sides as well. Maybe use ' ring options' and split cables in the middle of the each shelf. This method will work out more tidy in the end.
