Cool Comparing ISP Torrent speed throttling

I need to change my ISP and am finding it difficult to know who throttles torrent speeds or not.

Can I ask for everyone's input for the following experiment :

So, between 6-11PM ( Peak times in my opinion ), download the following Legally Free Ubuntu installation file using utorrent
    http://releases.ubuntu.com/11.04/ubu...64.iso.torrent
After 5 mins. of starting the download, please check your download speed, cancel your download and then post back the following information here :

    - CLOCK TIME
    - YOUR ISP
    - YOUR ISP PACKAGE
    - YOUR SUBSCRIBED SPEED ( Speed you are supposed to be on e.g. UPTO 40MB/s)
    - YOUR TORRENT DOWNLOAD SPEED

    Thanks!

    CLOCK TIME: 2129
    - YOUR ISP: VM
    - YOUR ISP PACKAGE: 50Mb/s
    - YOUR SUBSCRIBED SPEED: upto 50Mb/s
    - YOUR TORRENT DOWNLOAD SPEED: 2.1 MB/s (about 2/5ths of what my system can handle)

NB I have used MB and Mb - you can decide on your own conversion factor

Re: Comparing ISP Torrent speed throttling

MB = Megabytes .. utorrent displayes Megabytes
Mb as in Mbps = Megabits .. your ISP tells you what Megabits you will get

    - Your ISP: BeThere
    - Your Package: BeThere Unlimited
    - Your Subscribed Speed: 24Mb/sec
    - Your Torrent Download Speed: 2.2MB/sec

Like Blueball I have used MB and Mb - conversion can be done on your own

Re: Comparing ISP Torrent speed throttling

Be Unlimited and Sky do not throttle torrents at any time ever. I use both of these ISP's and that is one of the reasona I use them

ok I'm assuming you want UK isp's only but just in case here is mine:

    - CLOCK TIME: 22:50 (could not post right away as got distracted)
    - YOUR ISP: Ziggo
    - YOUR ISP PACKAGE: All-in-One Extra
    - YOUR SUBSCRIBED SPEED: 120 Mb/sec
    - YOUR TORRENT DOWNLOAD SPEED: 12.8 MB/Sec (could not wait the full 5 mins as it was done way before that so this is the peak it hit)

Re: Comparing ISP Torrent speed throttling

I use usenet over torrents but I am with virgin media so their throttling is the same over both.

    - CLOCK TIME: 23:03
    - YOUR ISP: Virgin Media
    - YOUR ISP PACKAGE: XXL
    - YOUR SUBSCRIBED SPEED: 50Mbit
    - YOUR TORRENT DOWNLOAD SPEED: 4-5MB/s (Depends on other people using NNTP and P2P)

It is around that speed all of peak time but can vary greatly depending on the day and area you live in because of the way it is set up.

Re: Comparing ISP Torrent speed throttling

I believe BT (infinity) are blocking UDP trackers running on port 80.. can't find any source to officially confirm but it seems to be so for me..
I guess other people could check to see if it's working for them.
