    ADSL Filters

    Hi

    Just a quick question about these.

    All my hose phone lines spawn of a single main line coming in, would I be ok in simply plugging a filter in there before letting any of the spawns get access or would need to give each individual phone a filter? Any Help appreciated

    Both my phones go off the one filter and no problems. Think that as long as all the phones have a filter between them and the outside world you are ok.

    Yup - you'll be fine with one, provided you plug any extensions through the filter.

    And get a nice trailing one - I broke my first two filters, cause the stack of adapters stuck out about 4 inches from the wall.
    Now go away before I taunt you a second time.

    Gah! Sorry to drag this up again but I keep getting conflicting advice!

    Does anyone KNOW for sure how i need to set these filters up?

    is it:
    Outside world -> filter -> Any number of Phones and computers
    or:
    Outside World - > Filter -> Phone/Computer - > Filter -> Phone/Computer - > Filter -> Phone/Computer - > Filter -> Phone/Computer

    Ok - every single socket that you run a phone lead into must have a filter, if you have 3 phones in the house, each of those 3 phones must have a filter fitted where they plug into the wall. I have 2 phones in my flat, so I have 2 filters.

    If you take the signal after its been split (ie, from the "phone" part of the filter) then you should only need it in that one.

    If the sockets are chained together with wiring BEFORE the filter (ie. in the actual socket) then you need one in every socket coming off it.
