power line adapter and wireless router set up

Long story short- Parents want cheap broadband so are getting Sky broadband, I on the other hand prefer VM so will pay for that. Currently:

modem > wireless router > to pc and powerline adapter

Now what i want to do is leave the modem where it is connect it to a powerline adapter directly, and then in my room where the other adapter is connect a wireless router to it. Now will the wireless router work this way?

dont see why not, as far as i'm aware the powerline adaptors dont have their own mac addresses and only extend the signal in the same way an ethernet cable would.

make sure you turn off the modem before switching the devices around tho.

only one way to find out really.

Think that should work fine Aled - I've just given it a go and it still worked anyway!
The technology is pretty transparent, so don't think you'll have a problem.

They do have a mac address in the powerline adapters -

    AledJ
It will work like that but i would from the routers web interface release the connection, turn the router off then modem connect everything up has you want
you might have to wait awhile before turning the modem > powerline > router on (can not remember if VM has a timeout on the dhcp lease to mac address)
