    what browser to use

H i have just done a clean instal, more than a year since i last did it and wondering what browser is the most popular with you all at the moment.

I have been using FF for the last couple of years, tried ie9 after the install but can't seem to get used to it, also wondered about chrome.

    Thanks

    Robert

    Re: what browser to use

I've stuck with Firefox, does everything I want it to do, only downside is the amount of memory it can use, but I've got 6gb of RAM, so even that doesn't bother me that much.

    Re: what browser to use

You may as well be asking what kind of soup should I like. It's total personal preference Like other folk I used Firefox for years and decided to give Opera a go. As browsers go its pretty damned good still use Firefox now an again as some sites (rare) just plain don't work in Opera ( not coded?). Went to Opera because of security at the time if you wondered.

    Re: what browser to use

Having used Opera, FF and Chrome for a long time, I have pretty much made Chrome my main browser.
All 3 have different strengths so it really is down to personal preference.

I've stuck with chrome as my default because of its speed and its multi-process thing (1 tab crashing/hanging doesn't crash everything else... most of the time)
I have FF as my other browser for when I need to view pictures with colour profiles, Chrome and Opera still doesn't support them.

I haven't launched Opera in a long while now, but when I did, the best feature that appealed to me was the notes and other stuff you can save on the right click menu.

    Re: what browser to use

I've been using Chrome as my main browser for quite a while now, very rarely experience problems with it, and when I do, it's very easily fixed thanks to the separate process for each tab.

    It boots up quickly
    It doesn't use much memory
It blends well into the Windows 7 theme
Bookmarks (and passwords if you wish) sync with your Google account so can be used anywhere (Very useful if you use multiple computers)

FF for me. I don't like Google's attitude over Chrome, and for that matter, their attitude generally. I'm not using a browser product from them, 'cos I simply do not trust them.

+1 FF (even on my android mobile!)

I think it's now down to the fact it doesn't let me down and I've stayed away from the other browsers so long that it can take me a while to find stuff in them now!

Has to be Chrome for me. It's ace. Never really got on with FF at all. I still use IE9 now and then, tis a good browser too.

    Re: what browser to use

I would use anything except Internet Explorer, as IE6 7 8 and 9 have the most exploits in them.

I use firefox and Chrome, firefox has alot more plugins but chrome is a tiny bit faster overall.

Firefox or Opera for me as they work well on Linux, Mac and Windows. Of the two, I use FF the most.

    Re: what browser to use

Firefox for me, mainly due to AdBlockPlus. Opera is better in almost every way, but doesn't make it easy to block junk. Chrome is nice and can be made to block ads but just isn't customisable enough for my tastes.
