    Virgin network problems?

    Hi,
Is anyone else having problems with Virgin Media broadband today/the past week? It seems to be affecting mainly overseas connections e.g. Hexus and BBC seem unaffected but forum images hosted elsewhere, Anandtech and Microsoft (including MSN/XBL) keep failing to load.

    Re: Virgin network problems?

Same with Hotmail. It's not often I have problems with them, network-wise anyway.

1st issue i have had for a long time about from outages in the middle of the night when they are doing quick network jobs.

    Re: Virgin network problems?

My mate on VM just complained that a site wasn't working for him, changing his DNS to 8.8.8.8 fixed it for him.

    Re: Virgin network problems?

Yep, I had problems too, couldn't load ebay, paypal, some tech sites, few others, but could torrent still, load other websites, guess it was a DNS issue.

But it's all working now for me, 20 minutes later.

    Re: Virgin network problems?

It's not DNS. Any relief provided by using a different DNS server would only be temporary while you perhaps tried accesing sites on a different IP.

Their business MPLS products have been unusable since around 5pm.
