you can connect quite a few , but bear in mind that they usually only have 1 100 meg link into the rest of the network, which is shared between all wireless users. If you have a low of heavy network usage PC's then you will find their network "slow"

A wireless access point is similar to "hub" technology - it's all shared bandwidth, so even if it's rated, say, 54Mbps (which is the theoretical, very rarely achieved limit), then you have to split this between all the clients.

the most clients off any wireless device is summit like 253, but if you need more, just use another access point
you'd probably section it off - with a max of 8 using 802.11g - and about 4 with B (if you're sharing files internally) - where if you're not sharing files over a local lan, you can safely increase to around 32 over 802.11b ( *edit* caveat - based on 512k connection - if on 1mb connection, take it down to 10-16 clients per WAP)
