    Sky Minidish Homebrew?

Had an idea for a homebrew antenna. We recently had to have a new Minidish installed because of the tree line and the Sky mechanic couldnt be bothered to re-position our other mini dish, so he fitted a new one and said we could "take down the other one and throw it away" and after seeing some many home brew antennas I though couldnt I use the mini dish as an antenna. I though I could take out the rod in the centre (that actually transmitts to sky) and fit either a USB WLAN converter or link it up to my wireless AP view some kind of cable.

Do you think it would be possible, I think if it worked it would be perfect because I need to beam my WLAN signal across a 30m gap and my 2 AP's dont have a great signal without an antenna.

    So, what do you think?
    Cheers

30 metres or 30 miles? 30 metres would be easy to do with something less drastic IMO. 30 miles probably no chance unless both sites are elevated and you can point them EXACTLY at each other. Sounds like an interesting project though.

Yeah, 30 metres. As Caged said, it would look cooler and it porbably going to be more stable than a wok during a storm.
Wondering how to do it though, I have a Wireless Access Point which has some kind of connector on it, which is designed to have an antenna plugged into it. Its either using that or somehow interfacing a WLAN module into my network.
    Cheers for your comments
