Home network wireless advice please

Hi again guys and gals!

A friend or a friend type person has asked (bullied) me to go round and resetup there home network after a move of house, as far as I understand they had one BB\ADSL connection being shared on 3 computers using wireless. They have since moved and had BB\ADSL fitted and the Internet is working on the one computer. And the others have not been setup yet.

So any info or advice for me, as I have not setup a wireless network before, I’m going round today ‘just to look’ and will set it up some point in the week if I can!

Get them a netgear wireless router/adsl modem:

These things have to be the simplest things ever to setup - I got a non techy friend to buy one - and he managed to set it up himself, with 128bit WEP encryption to boot! Seriously easier than getting a computer to share the connection.

Encryption is IMHO a must - as is restricting wireless clients on MAC addresses. And I'd still recommend wires for gaming.

yeah it was all set up and working, i'm just after some tips/advice really, anything will help!
