I can pay for that.. just more dough
£9 extra.. though I would also get 100gig instead of 20 too.
but not sure I need it to be honest

I'm loving the upload speeds at the minute, but my line won't support more than 46 down and I'm dropping to 20 or less at busy times. BT desperately need to upgrade the Manc East exchange, I think...
I sit here with my 512 kbps rural 'broadband' and weep gently into my router.

today I noticed the Zen boys are offering the 80/20 offer from 9th May and price has dropped a tiny amount to £35.40 and a 100gig limit. (they quote 76/19 cos they're "Wil-I-AM Mode on/ "dope")
So.. I rang, swapped and with a bit of luck I'll be on the 60+ down and somewhere around 12mb upload from the 9th.
get in there

I could bounce a stone off my exchanges roof, but I can't get more than ADSLMax at the moment.
i can forsee a time when i get a job that most of the wages will be going to this FTTC.
the exchange is round the corner, cabinet is round the other corner, transatlantic cables where they enter the UK are under house and come up round the other corner, i dread to think what speeds ill get
bad enough getting :
on aluminium cable that was put in cheaply which is currently broken a bit in the cabinet, due to meaty fist BT engineers breaking it everytime they work in the box.
can't complain though. justa lack of mony peventing us from getting FTTBigFastTransatlanticCable
stevie... you must be sat on THE interdimensional time shift portal of the web.....

could just be that its in an out of the way place, not near anything remotely interesting, with plenty of room to expand if needs be. 20 miles from liverpool, 20 from preston, 20 ish from manchester. seems the perfect place for a big hub exchange to connect all 3, if you think about it.
Should be getting my upgrade (via Zen) today or tomorrow. Second in three months!

My broadband speed - 750 Meganibbles/minute
Right.. upgrade went through.
Download speed identical to what it was ..upload up to over 7mb
BEFORE
AFTER
will leave it a few days before I call Zen... not too impressed that my 80/20 is idential download to my 40/2 service.... and as the upload has improved a fair bit, AND PING IS SUPERB....will let them do what they do before ranting, it's a new service ... bet they're having a play with my plugs or something

still got 37 down and 7 up... but when running the test there is the occassional split second of 58-60mb download.. and then it drop's to a rigid 37 again. Looks like it's being capped.
The reason I think this is that when I was on the cheaper deal a week ago, the upload was being capped.... at 1.7.. and occasionally it shot up and then dropped back again.. exactly the same. Now that it's not capped, it only fluctuates around the 7mb in the way any contended line does.. the normal bumpy graph.
the download now is doing what the upload did.... it's being ,... throttled
