    Wireless ADSL modem\router ???

    Wireless ADSL modem\router ???

Hi I’m having trouble setting up a network for a friend, she has a USB BT ADSL modem and wants to share the network with her four laptops, which already have SMC wireless cards. So can you get a Wireless ADSL modem and router in one that I can plug the ADSL straight into and then share the network wireless

She does have a wireless router (having trouble resetting it) but money is not really a problem for her and she wants the best option

Yep. Loads of people make them, for example the netgear dg834g. It is a asdl modem/router and wireless g point. However most makes do them and they come in at around or just under £100.
    Not around too often!

Yup, entirely possible, Linksys and 3com do a couple of nice ones, Avoid D-Link, and Netgear (Hopeless CS)

Gotta agree linksys or 3com. Heard too much about netgear, Belkin and Dlink to even consider one of them. And as I have had a draytek for over 12 months I really couldnt recommend one of them either

Yes find out the speed as there are different speed categories, this way you know the router will be able to supply the fastest possible connection to the laptops.

I have ordered one of those from ebuyer with the free pcmcia card. A 54mb/s router wont do any harm if money isnt an object seeing as it adds the option to expans at a later date, if your really feeling frisky go for the 108mb/s router.

My D-Link DSL-G604T should be arriving today so ill let you know lwter on how i get on with it, the free PCMCIA card it comes with is also 54mbs.

    Here it is on ebuyer:
    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=60242

Which is slightly cheaper than dsl warehouse even after delivery.

Also i have heard nothing but good things about 3com and linksys

Here is a linksys 54mb/s bundle also with a free PCMCIA card:
    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=63549

    And a 3com equivalent:
