I need a new host - and fast!

I inherited a package from an office we closed in 2007 and I currently pay £200 (exc) a year for

    Disk Space: 1Gb
    Bandwidth: 2Gb p/m
    Domains: Unlimited
    Sub-Domains: Unlimited
    100 SMTP/POP3/IMAP email accounts
    Unlimited email forwarders
    SPAMwall.

I'm only hosting a basic site but need to develop it very soon (it'll be delivering information, not commerce) and I'm using 19 of the 100 allotted email addresses which are integral to my business.

The whole lot fell over again this morning and I only realised then that the status page, control panel, helpdesk and so on all appear to be hosted by them meaning all communication and all faith died completely.

So, any ideas on where to go before the renewal date of 8th June(!)

    Ta

34sp always got a good number of votes when I last looked. Otherwise QIQ is what I use for personal stuff and I've not noticed any outages that I can remember. I'm only on their basic shared hosting but support is rapid (they have agents in the UK & Aus, so 24x7 coverage I believe) and helpful

QIQ is stupidly cheap, is there a catch?

Hostgator on a web hosting business plan is the best, cheaper then 34sp, you get unlimited bandwidth, unlimited space, unlimited domains, pretty much unlimited everything for $10 to $15 dollers per month which is about £7-9 when I make my payments over Paypal. I been with them for over 5 years now, awesome service, very little problems. I been told that my site is one of their biggest on the server that am hosted on.

Why do you want it in the UK?

Their customer support is awesome, you can get help through email, forum or by live chat, phone is available too.

You can request UK IP's if needed. Website loading times is as fast as anything based in the UK. o.O

Re: I need a new host - and fast!

webfusion's basic VPS service barely cost any more than that, and I've always been pretty happy with their service and support. Would give you a lot of flexibility. Can't really comment on their shared hosting though (and they don't seem to have a price for it on their website - not usually a good sign...)

They popped up in a few searches, but the lack of pricing was a no no.

I heard back from QiQ, everything was answered perfectly. I went to cancel the current hosts only to find they'd taken the payment a week early, which was nice. Currently sorting that out before migrating everything over.

Thanks to everyone who replied, Dave you'll have a PM shortly

QIQ have always been pretty solid when I've dealt with them in the past, but it's been a little while since i had much to do with them. I hope it works out well for you
