    Remember when your Networking tab on Windows Task Manager was at 1% while online?

    Not anymore.. my 100 Mbps LAN (via router) is at over 70% downloading from Steam

    why would that help?... it's at 70% of 100mbps

    anyway.. I have a gigabit lan switch... and I tried it.. and it went no faster, so it's only between the PC's with Gigabit lan cards and the gigabit port on my router.

    I'm constantly maxing out my network bandwidth on both my machines and my NAS, so i have just ordered a new gigabit router and 8 port gigabit switch!!! Cant wait

    Recently connected two machines with gigabit ports together rather than via the 10/100 hub ... wow. I was not used to such speeds!

    @ work we have phones that require PoE, and we only have a 10/100 switch that does that currently ... feels like I'm going back to the stone ages now!
