    ADSL Router suggestions

My brother and I are finally going to wire up out house and get an ADSL router to share our connection but we can't decide on which router to get.

    I've suggesting this one
    http://www.dsl-warehouse.co.uk/prod...P650H-31&pm=415
Which is what I've got in Uni and it works a treat, never crashed (unlike the Netgear one we had) and has a great firewall.

My brother, for some strange reason, wants a router that supports VPN and has 8 ports (we have a lot of computers) so I suggested this one
    http://www.dsl-warehouse.co.uk/prod...P652H-31&pm=415
Which he thinks is too expensive.

So are we going to get a router that has an ADSL modem, switch, and VPN support built in at a cheaper price or am I being stupid

On a seperate matter, is there such a thing that converts your normal ethernet cable to a cross over cable but can plug in between my switch and a router?

Neither of the links work for me, but if either of them are netgear stay well away, ive had nothing but hassle from them.

Can not recomend this at all, they look good on paper but a lot of the features are broke (thats if it's the one you where pointing to)

My mate uses one and it's fine, and I'm sure others have recomended Netgear in the past. Perhaps you just had a dodgy unit or something? I'm getting the DG834 in a few days, combined ADSL Modem/Router/4 port switch/firewall.

If I was buying a cable or ADSL router I'd go for a well regarded make like Linksys, D Link, Netgear, SMC, etc. Nothing "brand X"
