Some of you may know that I'm involved with a local project bidding for funds from DEFRA and the EU to bring Fibre to our little town.
Recently the goalposts were moved when we were told that the grants no longer covered the centre of town i.e. the highest population density, and by far the greatest proportion of possible customers.
We were told that we can no longer use this level of demand in our business case because the town would now be connected by BT's BDUK (http://discuss.bis.gov.uk/bduk/).
Guess what ?
Our town, in fact our entire district, is nowhere to be seen on the BT roll-out plan. Not even as far out as 2013 !

So, if I am successful, then I will be able to get FTTC speeds in an annulus around the town, but not actually where I live !
