    Nildram ADSL Strange problem

    I had problems connecting earlier on my nildram connection. When I got on every web page I went to loaded this message from bt

    You have been connected to this page due to one of the reasons listed below. You must now shut down your browser and Internet applications before attempting to reconnect.

    * You are testing your local connection to BT using 'bt_test_user@startup_domain'
    * You are testing your connection to your Service Provider using 'bt_test_user@domain' where domain is your Service Provider domain name.
    * Your Service Provider RADIUS server is currently out of service and you have been temporarily connected to this page - please contact your Service Provider for information or wait until service is resumed.
    * Your Service has been barred by your Service Provider - please contact your Service Provider for information.
    * You have attempted to access an invalid Service Provider domain.
    * The access circuit to your Service Provider is currently down. Your Service should be resumed soon.

    This window will close automatically in two minutes time.

    It's the bad weather today, check you fault tracker on your ISP's homepage if it has one, it should tell you the services/areas of the country etc affected. Your ISP has probably routed you through another network temporarily. I heard a 12Gbs BT server went down somewhere.
    To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

    sorry to hijack gordy:

    I've got a problem with my nildram 1000 dsl, it only downloads at the same speed as my BT 512 service. I've done all the setup, changed router settings, computer setting and generally done everything i can think of and its still going at 60kbps. I'm open to any ideas right now

    Check the speed on adslguide.org to see what levels your service is running at

    Never had that message Gordy, but there was a big outage last night - lasted a couple of hours. Just when I wanted to play Eve too

    Wonder what the service will be like now Pipex have taken over...
    Now go away before I taunt you a second time.

    No, he means run the speed test...

    That should show you exactly how quickly your connection is running.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    From Nilly's Site...

    Summary of ticket
    Ticket category - Core switch issue corenet

    Comment added on 09/08/2004 19:53:16...

    We have had issue with one of the core switch which was corrupting packets. Reload of that switch has stabilised network and seem to have resolved the issue. After prolonged monitoring, all looks fine although we will continue to closely monitor the platform. Apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused to our customers and for not been able to update sooner as it took us long to track down the issue.
    Nice to be told
