Hi..... Our line speed was never great, around 1mb/s, but then dipped to 0.1mb/s, and stayed there. Orange installed a new brightbox, which got us back to about 1.5 mb/s... but Orange, BT and Zen all agree we should get at least 3mb/s, ADSL2 enabled. With a line attenuation of 43.5 I've been told should get even more...
BT speedtests have shown various figures between 0.2mb/s and 1.6mb/s since box changed. Orange sent an engineer out, who changed faceplates and says there is no line fault - but not allowed to do an Internet Health Check as Orange/BT hadn't ordered one.. No matter what we/Orange do, our BT speedtest always quoutes '2mb/s is the max speed for your connection', though I understand this is a factor of the sync speed. Currently plugged straight into BT test socket, at Orange's request.
Router stats and latest speedtest data below. The NM of 14.6db has been pointed out to me as a possible issue, but I don't understand what that means, why, or what I can do about it if it is. I also notice that my router frequently shows a 'time connected' much shorter than I would expect - ie. allowing for power cuts, orange-requested resets etc., implying a loss of connection.
Any ideas people... this saga has been going on for 4 weeks now, and no nearer a real answer.
