Moved my desktop now having connection problems

I moved my desktop from my upstairs to my room which is downstairs. Since then, I have had terrible connection problems even though my desktop is still plugged into my modem. Is there any solution to this problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We are going to need a lot more info than this to be able to troubleshoot a problem. How are you connected to the modem? is it a separate modem and router, how long is the cable between these devices, what isp, have aliens moved into your basement?

Simple things come first, check your cables, if its ADSL check your splitter. If you are using a telephone extension cable then stop and use Ethernet instead if possible. Anyways, more info needed.

Not very knowledgeable when it comes to computers. It is plugged into the modem with a 75 ft. Ethernet cable.
