I use Bulldog, no complaints here. You can get a free modem, but I didn't bother as I got the Netgear ADSL/Firewall/Router/Switch from them for £70. All working fine, and only had a few minutes of downtime one night (early morning actually) but I was off to bed anyway...

You need a dsl router with a built in modem, can be confusing.

I would suggest plusnet as your isp (danielowenuk if you wanna give me a referal).

Have a look over at www.adslguide.org, some very knowledgable people over there.

Bulldog are good. Mine seems to run at 2mb all of the time, despite being 'off peak'!

If you going to get a wireless router and pci cards, buy them from broadbandbuyer.co.uk. Thats where i got mine from and when i had any trouble they were really helpful and easy to deal with. I bought a wag54g linksys and pci card and havent had a problem yet.

Broadbandbuyer is top for price, availability and service. As for ADSL providers my mum and gran both use Eclipse which IMO is the pick of the bunch.

I'am in N.I and use Eclipse,so far their service has been excellent.Oh and no download caps as yet.I had Pipex in my last house and it was great while it worked, but last years free connect/modem offer dented their service and reliablity.
