New Switch Needed ! - Netgear maybe ?

For some unknown reason my mini gigabyte switch has decided to become router unfriendly !

I can't seem to work out why and the switch I have borrowed from a friend works fine in its place, so I am in the market for a new switch.

One switch that appeals to me is the FS608 Netgear :

(Lots of ports for FPS action )

    Quick questions ....

Does anyone know if these contain any kind of fan (I hate fans !) ?

Anyone have any other recommendations or actually have one of these and thinks its good ?

Cheapest I have seen the netgear so far is 36.10 @ ebuyer.

Try and get the blue metal cased version if possible. A lot harder to break and don't get so hot. They don't have fans in.

Does this mean the Silver ones do ? Or just confirming the blue ones state.

I do like the styling of the silver ones and rear cables would suit the application better. Although I do know what you mean about the blue ones being tough, I have an old 10 meg hub here somewhere which is built real well.

the blue netgear works a treat. got one at home (unused now, cause of built in switch in rotuer) and 8 blue netgears at work. they never let me. not like 3coms, which died a few times on me.
I would recommend getting a blue netgear one. they are hard to destroy.
