    reverse speed test

Does anyone know of a way to run a speed test. to test the speed someone would get from a sever ran at my home.

For example i want to run a small low volume web server from my home BB connection. and want to know what ping they would get from different locations.

I have tried to ping my IP from a VPS and using web service like just-ping.com but my router rejects external pings.

Does anyone know a way around this?

    Re: reverse speed test

Usually if you check your router settings page you can select whether to respond to or ignore external pings.

As far as I know, most routers/modems have it disabled by default for security.
