Exclamation 2 computers sharing files on wag54g?

Hi, I need help (again) with my wireless. I want my new computer to be able to download files from my old computer on a Linksys wireless setup. The router is a wag54g and i'm using a wireless pci card in both computers(wmp54g I think). I think i have to enable something to let them speak to each other but I'm not sure what so if one of you guys could give me a hand it would be appreciated. Thanks.

You need to list what operating systems youre using......

if one of them isnt xp i.e. 98, me then create a netowrk boot disk in xp

dont forget you have to activate sharing of folders and drives.
or stick things in the shared docs folder.

Or, don't disable the firewall, right-click the folder you want to share and click "Sharing and Security", then start the wizard and follow it through on both machines.

I've done the network wizard on both computers and only one of them comes up with the netwrok places tab. In there is only folders from that specific computer, how do i get it to access and see the folders on the other computer. I have made a test folder in my documents called work and allowed it to share it on the netwrok( this has been done on the other computer- not the one with the netwrok places tab) but how do i access this on the other computer? Thanks

    either:

browse through my network places> entire network>Microsoft windows network> your workgroup> the pc you want to access> the pc's shared directory.

    or:

open up a windows explorer session - type "//shared computer/$shared directory/" without the quotes

it should then open a window up asking for a username and password, enter the username and password for the pc you're accessing, enter them and robert should be your father's brother

My downstair computer can see its own files on the network places and when you press workgroup computers it sees itself and the the upstairs computer. But when i try and double click on the upstairs computer it says it's incaccesable and cannot be found on the network or doesnt have permission to see this computer.

On My upstairs when i try to press workgroup computers it says'mshome is not accesable.you might not have permission to view this resource...the list of servers for this workgroup is unavailable.' But i am logged on administrator on both computers and have then both logged on at the same time.

What should i do? Thanks again, any help will be as always appreciated,John.
