Anyone else have a bug with Belkin N600 (D8302) and "static route" setting?

I'm trying to reserve two IPs from my home WAN/LAN router, but the interface will not accept my subnet mask entries except for 255.255.255.255. All others give the error: "The IP address and Subnet mask do not match." I think I read something somewhere there is a bug in the firmware.

Using a subnet calculator[1] I arrived at these _working_ WAN settings for 5 IP addresses:

    Code:
    IP Address > 192.168.2.1
    Subnet Mask > 255.255.255.240
    DHCP Server > On
IP Pool Starting Address > 192.168.2.2
IP Pool Ending Address > 192.168.2.6
This subnet mask gives me IPs x.x.x.1 to x.x.x.14. Then I try to reserve an IP above the DHCP IP Pool on the Belkin router's "static route" configuration page. This GUI only has the following entry, with an "add" button next to table row:

    Code:
    Network Address > 192.168.2.7
    Subnet Mask > 255.255.255.240
    Gateway > 192.168.2.1
According to my info, this subnet should work, but it doesn't. The only subnet mast that doesn't give the error above is 255.255.255.255!

This has to be a bug.

Hmm, if you set it to use 255.255.255.255, what subnet mask does the DHCP client actually get assigned?

Also, you mention that you're using those as WAN settings, surely you mean LAN? The router wouldn't act as a DHCP server for clients hitting the WAN interface.

I've seen quite a lot of home routers that don't like dealing with subnets other than /24, so is it an option to use 255.255.255.0 as the subnet mask?

I am slightly confuse by what you are trying to attempt as IP reservation and static route are separate things.

Are you trying to reserved an LAN IP address in a DHCP pool so that another computer or node does not take it? If this the case then it will not be under static route as this is used to setup a manual entry in a routing table for routers. I do not have this device however the static IP reservation should be on the DHCP pool page under a different section.

Edit: I had a look and certain Belkin models supports IP reservation.
