Looking To Change ISP

I've been with Pipex for two years now on their Solo 500 and with the increase in speeds and the lower prices I think it's time for a change.

Bulldog sent me a leaflet through the post (was with them when I was at uni) saying they had a new service where I could get 4mbit downstream and 512k up if I signed up to their phoneline contract as well. I've been to the website but it doesn't seem to give me that option. I'm guessing it's because it's only in certain areas but if anyone know's any better it'd be great to hear cause the price they're asking is about the same as I pay for my bb and phoneline anyhow.

Also, if anyone could give me their opions on other alternatives that would be great and also what I need to do to change.

Bulldog if you can get it is supposed to be good, those speeds are probably only at certain times of the day however.

Anyone any views on BT line vs Cable as far as internet connection goes.

Is cable a better option IE Telewest. Not price on anything just speeds, quality of connection etc.
