    Adsl Modem Connection Status

Just logged into my adsl modem/router to change a few bits and bobs and after checking my connection status i see the

Noise Margin Downstream Db number has gone down to between 8 to 10db
it was about 14db when adsl was installed. the upstream still the same 15/17db.

There is no problem with speed or lost connections.

Can`t rember now but is lower bad for the connection any help please.

A update on this, it was dropping down to 5db late last night but back up to 12/14 firsthing today also it must have lost the connection after i went to bed login about 7am was showing a uptime of only just over 1 hour. Could be some work being done at BT`s end of the line.

Well had a feeling something was going to happen again with the local bt network and yes phone line gone down yet again and this time it not just me. been of now for 5 days seems to be a major cable problem can`t get any info of BT other then it will be fixed by tonight (everynight for the last 5 days) Maybe they will put in a new cable for the area or most likely patch it then we will end up with anther two joints in the cable and more poor connections.
