Virgin Media have scrapped downstream throttling for 30Mb+

TBF the throttling has been really eased back again and again with VM lately but it's been scrapped altogether now on 30Mb+ packages it seems: http://my.virginmedia.com/traffic-ma...or-higher.html

It still applies to upstream, but last time I checked, the caps were such that the ACKs from downloading would never trigger it.

Thats great news, I am a firm believer that VM traffic management had improved greatly after 30Mb/s tiers were introduced as it was at least a sensible reduction and now to remove the cap all together is brilliant! Unfortunately the traffic management on upload still exists which is an area where virgin media really need to sort out as I am still waiting for the double upload to bring me to a 10:1 (60/6mb/s) which is a piss poor upload as it is, they really need to offer something like 20mb/s and be done with it.

I wish they done this last year before I left them.

The reason I left as I was never getting the speed I payed for.

That'd a good sign but alas I move home in 4 weeks and VM are not in the area.
