    Question DN reg & hosting

This has probably been asked many times before, if so just point me in the right direction (I couldn’t see anything in the sticky).

I’m looking to register a domain name and have some pages hosted, what companies would people recommend? My main concern is, of course, price.

From research I understand that only ICANN accredited companies can actually directly register domain names? So I imagine it would be good to use one of them to register the domain name at least? Also I’d like to “own” the domain name (for the length of lease), I think I read somewhere that some companies will keep the ownership themselves, this true or did I just imagine it?

A couple I've dug out are:
    http://www.easyspace.com
    http://www.totalregistrations.com
"Keyboard missing - press F3 to continue" Message seen on an Apricot PC.
"To start press any key. Where's the any key?" Homer Simpson.

I've always registered my domains with http://www.123-reg.co.uk, but I run my website from my ADSL line so I've never used them for hosting.

A consultant friend of mine always recommeds http://www.99p.org - at a glance they appear to give free webspace with each domain, plus a whole load of other stuff.

http://oneandone.co.uk are the guys that I use and I've never had an issue with them. They do solutions that include domain registration but will also do domain reg on its own. The packages to me are very good and I've never had any downtime.

They were recommended to me by a friend who I work with and he runs his own games server using the standard package
Signature in development ... please be patient
