    Thumbs up Bulldog 4Mbps ADSL

OK, I'm sure everyone knows about Bulldog's 4Mbps ADSL service, but has anyone seen the price??

    £40 a month.

And that includes a telephone service provided by them too, so you don't have to pay BT £10 a month or whatever. Call prices are the same too! So that's basically £30 a month for 4Mbps ADSL!! I pay that much for 1Mbps ADSL!

So, what do you get? How about 400kbps upload! No usage limits! 1 dynamic IP address! Extensive email package and a bit of web space (40MB)! No minimum contract! The only problem stopping me from switching right now is it's only available in certain areas in London, but not mine sadly!

I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled though, as it's available 2 miles down the road, so hopefully it'll soon come my way!

I'm waiting for them to announce the 200 exchanges that they are going to LLU outside smokey London. I'm on their 2 Mb line that I pay 29.99 a month for and its awesome. Now if only I could get 4 Mb sooner

The LLU looks good value as well as their is NO line rental to BT

well my 2 Mb is 50:1 as well yet I get 2 Mb speeds all the time and no slowdown. 400 Kb upload looks good, but its still pathetic compared to some of our european cousins speeds

You can have 4Mbit on Telewest (they've finally upgraded my line to 4meg) with 384k up ... it'll cost you £50 a month thou Make a housemate (or girlfriend in my case) pay half and its all good

    (especially with no caps)

Best I can get here is 1mbit And it will probably be staying that way for a while.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

Remember months ago when "primetime" was available

Well they scrapped it as the TOD servers we're crap to put it in basic terms and forgetting to switch @ 6pm every night so they moved all the primies to a 2 Mb all-time product instead

    Lucky or what hey

    wish we could get that

stuck on 1.5meg NTLHELL here, when it works the dloading is fine, but 128k upload really limits things.

for example i get exactly the same ping (30-40) on CSS with my 1.5meg line as with next doors 750k line. upload really limits things

after my placement year though adsl will be the way to go, will have more ££ then

1.5mbit cable has 256kbps up. Upload doesnt limit pings, latency has more to do with the network itself.
