fibre wireless router to DSL?

Hi guys,

I have this router at home - ac1750 tp link

Its connected to my fibre modem. I'm going to move soon, but the new place only has DSL through the phone line, so I'll use a splitter... But the cable that comes off the splitter won't go in the back of the ac1750. Any way I can get my wireless router working on DSL...wired modem first?

Ideally you would need an Ethernet ADSL modem or a router with in-build ADSL modem that supports "bridge mode".

If you are happy to reduce your TP-Link ac1750 to being just a wireless access point, you can also adjust its settings (turn off DHCP server and change its IP address in line with what the new router uses) and connect any router with in-built ASDL modem to 1 of its 4 LAN ports. The ac1750's Internet/WAN port would remain unused in this scenario.

Or take the router your ISP gives you for ADSL (or pull an old one of of a cupboard) and put it in bridge mode and connect that to your tplink. Bridge mode essentially turns the router into a modem.
