Hi,
I use 200 homeplugs, but still have a dead spot in a room - thinking of using a wi fi extender - any experience as to whether this is a good idea? Unsure whether to upgrade the 200 to something faster.
thanks,
Dalcross

Wi-Fi extenders work like bridges, just extending the practical range of the mirrored unit (may that be an AP, router or another bridge). Hope I explained correctly
You can have homeplug + Wi-Fi extender, just need to buy an additional unit which is compatible with your current power line configuration and had Wi-Fi capabilities at the same time.
If you are thinking about upgrading the power line setup, read the following review:

That's a lot of homeplugs
Sure, WiFi extenders work - they do what they say on the tin.
Devolo dlan Wi-Fi products work great for me - just annoying when weakest wireless connection is selected when both are available.
No. The repeater doesn't determine which signal you connect to. Your device does. So unless your device has a signal strength based preference setting then its going to happen.
Wifi extenders can open up new areas as long as they have a strong signal themselves, usually gotten from direct Ethernet cables. I finally wired up this house and my next one will either be wired or I will do that as well.
I installed powerline wifi extenders at the inlaws, bit picky about where they plug in (didn't like surge protected gang leads) but once running allowed video streaming onto their ipad where simple net browsing wasn't possible before. They use wiffi cloning so are not visible as separate networks. Surprised that my £80 windows tablet has better wifi than their brand new ipad.
is anyone aware of the amount of radius wifi extender has and that it provides? Its curious, i mean, if it has a radius only for one room then its better to have a dead room then spending some amount :/
