    For lease line

    Friends

I am very new about the lease line connection, In my office we have 6MBPS contention ration 1:1 internet lease line from Reliance.

This connection is running in a single machine, I have tried to download files from Microsoft site, but the download speed showing 1.5 MBPS.

But I was suppose to get 6MBPS download speed as its a dedicated 6MBPS line.

    Please guide me.

The rate you're going to get is going to depend on a whole series of factors, including the speed of the connection at MS, how many others are using it, and the nature of the links on the exact path your connection took to MS.

It's a bit like pumping water from a reservoir to your home - the overall flow rate is limited by the pipe diameter of the smallest section. If it's150mm most of the way, but 15mm for a few yards up the road, that 15mm bit limits your overall flow.

    Have you run a speedtest?
