Wireless AP advice please.
Good afternoon Hexus, it's been a while.
I need to supply a strong WiFi signal using one SSID to all areas of a property. The property has +1m thick internal walls, oak beams, etc. The wireless signal of the current router (which cannot be changed) is not strong enough to penetrate the rather large fireplace in the centre of the property.
As far as I can see I have two options;
1. Install a set of powerline adapters like so - TP Link TL-PA4020PKIT - and add a Wireless AP - TP Link EAP110 at the slave end of the powerline connection located on the other side of the fireplace.
2. Install a set of powerline adapters cum WiFi AP like so - NETGEAR XWNB5201-100UKS.
Option 1 is my preferred route as I'd much rather have two devices each built for a specific purpose however I'm open to suggestions.
What say you?
Re: Wireless AP advice please.
I agree with the concept of two devices built for a purpose, but on the other hand, that is what the net gear device is, they happen to be built on the same cut board! I quite like Netgear stuff, sometimes n the interest of keeping things simple, I'd probably go for that option. Saves a power socket too!
Re: Wireless AP advice please.
Similar thinking Peter, thank you.

I chose some powerline devices with a passthrough socket for that very purpose ;)
