Antenna for motherboard wifi
I am after 2 Antenna for Wifi on a motherboard. Mate has 2 wifi connections on his motherboard (rear) but has lost the 2 antenna as he has just moved house!!!
Will 2 of these be ok:

Re: Antenna for motherboard wifi
Assuming the mobo has standard connectors (and no reason why not) those antennae will be fine.

Yes, it looks like standard screw on fixings.
Anyone know if the Scan ones are shorter? I have read the others are quite big?
Re: Antenna for motherboard wifi
From the pictures the Scan ones look a fair bit shorter - this would make sense as they are also lower gain (5dBi v 8dBi).
Assuming your friend has decent Wifi signal, the Scan ones should be fine.
Re: Antenna for motherboard wifi
Bear in mind that a high gain isn't always a good thing, as the gain is at the expense of direction, so you may get dead spots in between the lobes on a higher gain antenna.
Re: Antenna for motherboard wifi
So, Scan ones better. I will ask Scan to see how long they are. Ta Guys
Re: Antenna for motherboard wifi
Long ones do not always mean a long antenna inside, I knocked one of my Asus AC68U antenna off and it unlipped from the hinge, inside was a stubby 2" antenna.
