HelloI'm going to be setting up a 802.11g wireless LAN in my halls next week with a router and was wondering what the pings would be like, the 1st 2 computers I am going to connect have 2 concrete walls between them, I know it'll probably make it run really slow but we ain't allowed wires outside of our rooms bahh

on my old 11 Mbps one which is 10 metres away i get a ping of 1 ms using the command prompt in windows.
Im using 11g an when I ping my router which is through one thick concrete wall I get 2ms.
It shouldnt really be too noticeable.

CoolIs it true that 802.11g has a further range and can go through more objects than 802.11b?

Supposedly but I have never tested it personally.
Just make sure you get kit which you know is compatable.
