Question BT Midband - anyone here had/got it?

Righty, I am looking to get a better connection than the 56k one I have now. I live too far from my exchange for ADSL to work, so thats out of the question for now. There is nothing really else I can have, so I have been thinking of geting BT midband. I was wondering what people's experience with it is. What are the costs, pro's/con's etc? And does anyone game on it? What ping's do you get? I do a lot of downloading so I can't be doing with no caps either.

    Cheers.

I used to have ISDN, which is what midband is, a few years ago and it was great. Download speeds at 128k were between 12-14k /sec, NOT DSL speed but much better than 56k.
I used to game on it in Quake 3 and Rocket arena pinging between 20-30.
Ping times are about the same as DSL, although might be a bit higher but you wouldn't notice it. On the plus side i would expect less lag as most people are using DSL.

Yeah, i currently have Midband and would well recomend it to anyone who cant get Bband (like me)

    - Is faster, even 64 is alot fast than the 40k i got of my 56k
    - And 128 is not too bad even for DLing music/files

    - you can browes the web while using the (two) phone lines, and if you mum picks up the phone while your on 128k, she doesnt know, becuase it drops stright back down to 64k, so you dont get the earacke!! (although, stupidly, it cant drop to 64k to receive and incoming call, so if your on 128, no one can phone you)

    - Its releable, rhigt at the biggining we had a bit of trouble with it not conecting, and droping the line, but after a call to BT, they did a bit of poking about we havnt had a single problem in nearlly 2years.
