No console output Allied Telesis A-8000S switch
So I have an Allied Telesis 8000S switch. 24 ports but no console output. I've tried the usual 9600 and the default 115200 baud rates with flow control on and off. Nothing seems to get the console working.
I'm using a Prolific USB to serial adapter and a serial cable
What else could I try?

According to https://www.alliedtelesis.com/sites/...s/8000s_ig.pdf
Quote:
DB-9 Console Port
The DB-9 port is an asynchronous serial console port supporting the RS-232 electrical specification. The port is
used to connect the device to a console managing the device. This interface configuration is as follows:
• Eight data bits.
• One stop bit.
• No parity.
• Baud rate is 115,200 (default). The user can change the rate from 115,200 down to 2400 bps.
Probably teaching you to suck eggs, but you're selecting the correct COM port, right?

Does the USB/serial adapter work with anything else?

Yep. Only difference is the speed. I don't remember connecting to anything with 115200 before with this adapter. Normally connecting to things at 9600 baud rate.
