BT is currently involved in a legal dispute with Opera Telecom, regarding the use of premium rate diallers operated by Netcollex Ltd, one of Opera’s customers – specifically in July 2004. Opera Telecom is responsible for the allocation of the telephone number under investigation. BT is being challenged for preventing calls being made to this particular number because we suspected the company was not complying with the specific regulations associated with diallers.

BT does not control the use of Internet diallers and therefore we do not imply that this action will result in the refund or waiver of any telephone charges associated with calls made to them. However, we do think it’s important to understand more about what happened with this service in order to help educate consumers to make informed choices in the future. The experience you have had with this number may be important.
