Pay a bit more and you can get this for an unreasonably cheap price of £219: https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-AD7.../dp/B01LLAK1RE
Don't think you get much faster than that.

Take your pick.
Depending on how your house is constructed, you might find it a better investment to run access points closer to where your devices are. A fairly cheap access point in the same room is probably going to give you better results than a very expensive one behind two brick walls.
If you want it for gaming and want the fastest possible, there is only ONE choice; run a cable!
They are VERY easy to crimp with the tool, very small without their ends and most runs (even complex ones) should be doable in an hour or two, even if it's a long run and your first time making a CAT5 cable.
I have a TP-Link Archer C8, brilliant.

Bit cheaper and leaves cash free for USB dongles to match.
How big is your home, how old, what kind of internal walls are there?
For gaming you might be better a set of home plugs to the gaming PC for stability and lowest ping
I have a TP-Link VR900 Archer and a couple of repeaters in other rooms. Make sure you get good quality wireless adapters for PCs furthest from the router / repeater (or homeplugs). I have an Archer T4UH which has been rock solid.
TP-Link Archer C9 = £100 (router)
TP-Link RE450 = £50 (optional range extender)
TP-Link T4UH = £23 (good wireless adapter for PC's far away from signal)
TP-Link TL-PA4010PKIT = £35 set of power line adapters with pass though plug
Thanks for the replies, HomePlug electric is very old & i tried them, very flake signal also not really for competitive online gaming.
shaithis - already Main PCs are wired x2 ethernet CAT5 - but i have an andriod that needs wireless access, also family who come sometime. I never thought about TP-Link for gaming, general use i think they are full of great features. i would also like a router that does Mimo. I've narrowed it down 1) Asus RT-AC3200 really good spec 2)TP-LINK Archer C3200 11ac 3) Dlink EXO AC 1900 DIR-879 11ac.
If you're wanting MU-MIMO support then the TP-Link Archer C2600 seems to be the one to go for.
It's £144 at Currys

Recently replaced the pathetic BT Smart Hub 6 with the ASUS DSL-AC68U modem/router, fantastic bit of kit. Obviously you'd need a cable version, but I would highly recommend the ASUS.
Currently £144.99 at Currys!
Keep it as a router, but turn off the wireless broadcast.
Buy a Ubiquiti Unifi AC Lite or AC Pro (£90 or £140), they are great Wirless Access Points.
I use a Tenda AC15 which is a fantastic device equipped with AC1900 and beam forming. The amazing thing is that it's usually available for around £60 which is a bargain. There are lots of reviews on YouTube if needed.
