    Ethernet network cable recommendations please

Hi, I would really appreciate some advice on who/where to buy a ready-made 30m network cable from please. It will simply be used to connect from a router to a wireless access point. It will be about 30m and I don't want to crimp my own plugs hence ready-made will be good for me. It needs to be relatively soft so it can be installed around some corners etc but there seem to be so many differing standards and types of construction that I'm struggling to choose. Any help for a UK vendor, type of construction etc would be appreciated. Thanks

30m is quite a short run, so good cat5e cable will be fine and should be softer/more flexible than cat6 if that matters.

You can get cheap cables on Amazon, but if you want the best quality make sure they are copper cored cables not CCA (Copper Covered Aluminium) which is more delicate but much cheaper.

Last supplier I used was these people, which was for good quality Cat6 cable but they seem to do patch cables too: https://www.comms-express.com/catego...-leads-cables/

Yes, loads on there but the problem is you have no idea what you're getting, hence enquiry

Many thanks, just what I needed. An idea of what to look for and someone to buy them from.

There have been recommendations of NetStoreDirecton Hexus previously - I'm going to get a reel from them if I every get round to networking the house properly! Sub £15 delivered for comparison: http://www.netstoredirect.com/rj45-n.../57-length-30m should sort you out.

+1 for comms-express. Used them loads for both personal and work and never had an issue.

I used them before and had a damaged cable.

Though they were quick to replace and replacement worked fine.
