    Looking for a thing

Quick backstory: had a room replastered, guys brought an "electrician" who was told that there would be a small patch panel fitted to the wall, and to leave a channel for the incoming cat6 cables so I can do my thing once they were done.

What I got was a pair of metal 2-gang back boxes wedged in and "held in place" with decorators caulk, and a matching letterbox in my nice new plaster.

I decided to just put a couple of datagrid fronts in with 8 RJ45 sockets. Problem now is because the backboxes are both loose and too close together, there isn't enough space for the fronts.

So, I want to put in a plastic "dry wall" back box. This is tricky as there is a single huge hole and the drywall boxes need to be secured to the plasterboard on both sides.

In my mind I know I just need a "double double" plastic dry lining backbox, but I can't find any! I can see plenty of 2 + 1 boxes, like this:

    But I need a 2+2

    Do they even exist?

a double double I have never seen. Screwfix and I think Toolstation do if you are talking about the double plasterboard boxes or they do a twin box as well hope this helps you will need to have some space between the boxes to allow for the locating tabs to pull up tight to the rear of the plasterboard

That's my problem, the idiot that cut in the holes has just put one long "quad gang" with no gaps, contrary to what was there before. I was going to do it with metal boxes, but there is an uneven void behind the plasterboard that makes it pretty much impossible without a lot of bodging.
