    Zen user please help :D

As everybody i'm fed up with Plusnet (dont ask why i get them in the first place), so i'm cosnidering to migrate to an ISP that dont do silly cap. I'm looking @ Zen so have a few questions:

    - Is it really cap free ?
    - Downtime/Speed what are they like? And my line is limited to 1Mb max.
    - Customer service ? Good, acceptable, bad ?
    - Any P2P cap? Bittorent for example ?

I just moved from Metronet (bought by plusnet),

Yes It's definitely cap free since I had been pushing my line constantly without CS calling / mailing me.

Depends on where you're going, I find that their connection to Asia isn't all that good but overall in Europe the speed is fine. Compared to other ISPs, because they're not based in London (or whatever reason) you'll see your ping about 5~10ms higher than when you're with other ISPs (probably far lower then plusnet during peak period).

I haven't seek Customer service once but on ADSLGuide they response to questions promptly and without those kind of "spin" that Plusnet always do.

And of course high quality service comes with a hefty price tag. I'm on 2M Zen. My exchange is kinda red so I'm getting about 150~220k/s most of the time.

    - Is it really cap free ?

We used to run an online backup server on one that was downloading a full speed all day long

    - Downtime/Speed what are they like? And my line is limited to 1Mb max.

Never really had any issues - as you say the limit is caused by BT , not the ISP

    - Customer service ? Good, acceptable, bad ?

Amazing - v helpfull ( I used to run about 50 lines with them )

    - Any P2P cap? Bittorent for example ?

    not that I ever experianced.

I used to be on zen. From my experience with them

they don't have any caps, they don't use qos,

    their customer services is A+

their download/upload is pretty much only contended by your own exchange, which they cannot control themselves

if you read bbs.adslguide.org.uk and look in their forum, you will see that this standard of service has pretty much stayed consistant, if not improved

Only downside is you pay 35 quids a month and if your exchange's contention is so bad you can't get the speed you want then you will look at other ISPs. People pay for 2Mbps but only getting 1Mbps speed, and still at double cost compared to other isps, you wouldn't feel its right...

I moved house and the people i was with didn't want a phone line so it was too expensive for me to fork out for the net and phone line. I went for the telewest option instead, cheaper package and no phone line rental.

I wish i could afford to stay with zen, but i just can't.
