    Cant Access Shares....

I have 2 PC's connected thru am ISDN router which has a built in 4 port switch.

I had these PC's all setup fine. All mapped drives worked and data could be transferred between each one great and I had no problems until now.

I have changed nothing but 1 PC cannot "find" the other PC.... Examples using PC A and PC B -

    PC A -

Can connect to all mapped drives of PC B
Can display local shares and PC B's shares in "My Network Places"
Can display PC A and PC B computers within "View Workgroup computers"
    Can do everything fine

    PC B -

CANNOT connect to any mapped drives of PC A
Can display local shares fine but NOT PC A's shares in "My Network Places"
CANNOT display PC A and PC B computers within "View Workgroup computers"

Both PC's are on same workgroup
All firewalls disabled - same effects
Both PC's on Windows XP Pro

The funny thing is I can do a remote desktop connection from PC B to PC A and access everything fine there so I know the physical cable is fine as is the setup on both PC's

I have tried removing all shares, changing workgroups and PC names but still nothing

    Anyone got any ideas ??

Can PC B ping PC A?

If both machines are on static IP's, can you access shares via IP?

    eg. \\192.168.0.2

I've found it often helps to move terminal services down the order list in advanced network properties. Before that shares would take a while to open/find - now it's pretty much instantaneous.

also, remember to check "authenticate as guest" in the "athentication" tab for a connection, can help problems frequently
