Ethernet cables question

Hi need to run a couple of <13m runs to 2 different rooms(Apple TV & win 10 pc ) to a switch in the attic, which is connected to a whs 2011 with media,so do I but loose cable and use wall plate and then a short patch lead, or do I just run a long patch lead from pc to switch.
Also which speed of cables would you recommend?

Long leads will work fine , personally I'd use flat cable - get the best you can find [best does not mean most expensive]
or use long leads to a patch box and a short one to that from your struff

Cables: Cat5e / Cat6. Flat cable might be easier to run especially under doors if need be.

I would terminate in a wall plate. If the cable gets damaged, you just replace the patch lead. If you decided to move the PC around the room, you just change to a longer patch lead.
CAT 6 in the wall for future proofing.

You could do either. If you want to conceal the wiring in paster of a wall cavity, then wire to a wall plate. Cat 5e is more flexible than Cat6 and easier to run and over the lengths you are using will support 1Gb/s speeds.

If you are running in channelling in the wall, then Cat6 would support up to 10Gb/s provided it is installed correctly, observing minimum bend radius etc.

Thanks all for the help, now don’t shoot me down but son arrived with pre terminated patch cables and an afternoon to fit them and couldn’t say no to him, so switch in attic moved and 3 x cat 7 patch cables dropped, I know but he thought go for the cat 7
