    Broadband monitoring software

Hi guys, as per my other thread in here on my broadband, whilst we are away over Christmas I would like to leave an old laptop on, with some form of network monitoring software running.

I am hoping to capture uptime, drops, time to reconnect, broadband speed (up/down etc)...

Basically everything & anything to help map the problem over a week.

Can anyone recommend anything software wise? My router doesn't offer any such tools (NowTV's own brand one).

    Thanks,

Probably a bit too late, but there's been no replies. Theres not a whole heap of software that's specifically looking at QOS at the home level as apposed to NSM outside of that built into many routers. Does your router provide any logging capabilities at all like syslog?

Have you tried using ThinkBroadbands CQM graphs (free - just get a account on the site). They will plot graphs of packet loss to your routers external IP. It won't measure speed though.

+1 for this, have used it many times to skip the "have you tried rebooting it" beginners stuff that Virgin Media/Sky customer support start off with.
