    Modem Router

Can anyone make a suggestion on which ADSL router modem to get. I am looking for one between £20 and £50. I play a lot of online games so it needs to be hassle free in that respect.

At the moment the two I am looking at is the EBuyer cheapo SPI four port modem router and the D-link DSL-504T.
    Specs:

    Q6600 G0, Thermalright Ultra 120, ABIT IP35 PRO, 4GB Corsair DDR2, Trusty old Tagan 480u, BFG 8800 GTS 512, Samsung F1 750 GB.

Out of your two choices the D-Link would be much better, and more reliable then the Ebuyer one.

Please don't buy either. I would avoid the cheapo one because cheapo=bad. My experiences with D-Link routers has also been bad. I have to reset at least once a week, sometimes several times in one day, which seems to be far from an uncommon problem.

I have the ebuyer cheapo one, and that seems to work fine. The only thing it SLIGHTLY falls down on is the USB connection. Sometimes the connection dropped when using the router via USB on my parents PC (no network card), but that's so old it could have been the PC.

I say get cheapo ebuyer router .

I've supplied a few of those ebuyer routers to friends family and clients. I've yet to have a problem with them that wasn't fixed by a reboot every couple of months.

I say since they're so cheap, and have a HUGE amount of recommendations (look at what me, Moby-Dick and the masses of reviews said), you should get the ebuyer one. No brainer if you ask me.

Ordered the Ebuyer 4 Port Modem Router yesterday. Thanks for the help I will see how it goes. Where do you get firmware updates from if it is an ebuyer own job?

I'm using an origo one at the present time @ home. Stable as larry on 2 Mb and 4 Mb and hardly drops and needs a reboot ( about 1 every 2-3 months ).

Bargain really for what I paid for it and its fine on superfast broadband as well as the normal varients.

Nothing is wrong with DLink, in the same hardware generation DLinks were better than Linksys AND Netgear.

I had expected Linksys wireless to go out of business a while back for having sh*t as wireless hardware until Cisco bought them out.

The problem with Linksys wireless router were in the wireless part and not in the router part, though they had improved greatly.
