    domain name problem

    hi

I bought a domain at register1.net without hosting but can't seem to get the name server(s) working...not sure how exactly I set them up.

Ive got two free domains that point to my dynamic IP by using a program to resolve it automatically and some how need to get the one I bought linked to one or both of these. It says changes can take upto 48 hours, is this true all the time?

    Any help much apprechiated.

    cheers

not exactly sure what you are saying. Do you have hosting somewhere else and you have to put the nameservers in this place your reged then at?

The times i had problems were when i didnt have the correct name servers as they had
just put in two new ones. i think it took less than two hours for it to change when i got it right.

Hi, I host the site on my pc here with IB server which is basically apache.

The name servers that were there were the ones that are default so only work if you have hosting with them too.

Im not entirely sure how to setup the name servers.

I see under adding new name servers, 'server hostname' twice - If I try to put my existing free domain in it continues to an error page saying I cant do that. Is how I've put them in now correct?

This is what I see: http://xx.dnsalias.org/images/register1.JPG

    Thanks
