    AOL & New Router/Modem probs!

Hi! Hope you guys can please help me here "I'm Struggling"! I am on Aol 2mb with no other pc's connected (Local) And Aol have recently changed over to PPPOE drivers from PPPOA! Now as I just recieved my new SAMR-4110 Router/Modem and need to know a few Qs before i go ahead!
a: Should i uninstall Aol And my old Alcatel usb drivers before i install the new softwarte/hardware?
b; I keep getting the Aol pop up ..'PPPOE driver upgrade' which i have been ending Aol via task manager so i can carry on browsing. Should i now install those drivers before/After i install the new router?
c;If i do install PPPoe drivers (above) which modem do i click on? as my new one is'nt listed!
    Million thanks !

I've setup a few modem routers recently for AOL, you can still use it on PPPoA. Im not too sure about the PPPoE business thats going on.

Uninstall AOL software + old modem drivers.

Follow router setup -> username = yourscreename@aol.com password: yourpassword

Dont forget to set the MTU to 1400 or it'll throw wobbles

Install AOL software and it will auto configure.

Above tried and tested this morning in fact at a customers home, worked first time.

NOTE: you only actually need to install AOL to access aol content (emails etc) - even then you could use AOL webmail and forget their software completely.

    Hi Rob
Thanks for your post sorry about delay as i've been off line for a few weeks as my old usb modem packed up and i couldnt get this damn thing going..Still cant infact! i had to buy another usb just to get access to the net! So if you can ps help me? I uninstal usb drivers and Aol,type out default url and follow all the info in booklet but the damn thing wont connect i cant get to the bit where i need to put in my Aol details (Gateway) !The adsl lights up along with the Lanlink one but all i get is an error in ie and cpu at 100%! by the way i am using an Ethernet (Lan) that comes inc with my Mobo (asus p4s8x) which shows up as unplugged 'Red X'.. until the Router is connected then i get the little yellow ball thingy which i think says 'aquiring connection'! So that seems ok!
Could it be My firewall (kerio free) not being set up correct? But saying that i've tried disabling it also! Would i need to have ie as the default browser? Any help will be appreciated!

If you have an aol supported router the hep support is your best friend! They are absolutely fantastic, they even seem to have some personal knowledge beyond the program they use! They have sorted out some major issues i had, cant put them down, most of the times i phoned i didnt even have to hold!
