BF2 - Connection drops with phone calls

The single weirdest problems has arisen, my little bro purchased Battlefield 2 on Friday and he's loving every minute of it but the strangest thing is happening. When the phone rings in the house - the connection drops to the server!

This has never happen in any other game before - WoW, CS:S, UT2004 and several others work perfectly without the connection dropping as far as I'm aware.

What could be causing it?

I may try changing the filters at the phone sockets to see if that makes a difference but has anyone ever come across something like this?
